With population growth and human activities developed and to accompany this growth, there is the production sector of tiles and bricks from potteries that are installed without previous studies of environmental impacts, since the extraction of clay (raw material) used causes soil destruction and therefore great concern for the environment. This research aimed to quantify the bibliographic publications that addressed the impacts caused by potteries in Brazilian regions in the period 2001 to 2018. For the bibliographic research, the world wide web (Internet) and the platforms Scielo, Google academic were used, using as descriptors the impacts caused by potteries in Brazil. Sixty-five works were found that involved environmental impacts from potteries, and it was found that the South region is the most addressed in publications, corresponding to 30.7% of the total inventoried. This region was the only one in which the States have at least one publication on the topic in question. The region with the lowest rate of works is the Midwest with only 3% of bibliographic productions. It was noted in the publications that most potteries do not have a previous environmental impact study for their installation, nor a plan for the recovery of the area impacted by clay extraction, which causes irreparable environmental damage.
