The team of researchers from Helium Corp elaborated out the inventory of the speleological heritage in the sub-basin of the Pardo River in the municipality of Iúna located in the Serra do Caparaó, focusing on its characterization and relevance, according to CONAMA Resolution nº 347, of September 10, 2004 and the Decree nº 6,640, of November 7, 2008. The study area is located in the district of Nossa Senhora das Graças in the community of Morro Redondo. The municipality of Iúna did not have a caves registered with the National Center for Research and Conservation of Caves (CECAV) until the synthesis of this study, which made it possible to inventory and register a cave, named Morro Redondo cavity. The cavity was georeferenced, topographed and registered with CECAV. With the increase in the number of caves occurring to Serra do Caparaó, it will be possible to better characterize the profile of the caves developed in the region of Iúna. It is hoped that the dissemination of this research can contribute as a basis for future speleological studies.
