This article aims to explore the relationship between Environmental Law and Socioenvironmental Responsibility in waste management, proposing paths for sustainable management. The methodology adopted involved a bibliographical review and analysis of relevant legislation and legal documents related to the topic. This study is relevant as it fills a theoretical gap in the field, given the scarcity of research that deeply addresses the connection between Environmental Law and Socioenvironmental Responsibility in the context of waste. The main results highlight the need for an integrated approach that combines Environmental Law and Socioenvironmental Responsibility to ensure effective and sustainable waste management. It was identified that the current legislation is fragmented and, at times, inadequate to address the challenges and complexity of the socioenvironmental issues related to waste management. The theoretical contributions of this study emphasize the importance of a holistic approach in environmental legislation, incorporating principles such as circular economy, shared responsibility, and waste generation prevention. The methodological contributions highlight the need for more robust legal instruments and effective incentives to promote sustainable waste management. In terms of social and environmental implications, the results suggest that efficient waste management significantly contributes to environmental preservation, public health, and socioeconomic development. Promoting socioenvironmental responsibility for waste is essential to mitigate negative impacts on the ecosystem and foster the transition to a more circular and sustainable economy.
