Species of harmful synanthropic fauna (NSF) represent a very important category of animals that, directly and indirectly, cause damage and pose a potential risk to public health. The Port of Paranaguá, as the largest grain port in Latin America, is attractive to the FSN, due to its food supply. This work has the purpose of presenting the diagnosis of the Harmful Synanthropic Fauna in the Port of Paranaguá through data obtained in the years 2012 to 2014, in which three species of rodents were identified in the port area: Rattus norvegicus, Rattus rattus and Mus musculus. A comparison was made between the FSN captured/observed in the Port of Paranaguá and 20 Brazilian Maritime Ports, in which it was found that the Port of Paranaguá has the second highest percentage of rodents. In addition, a bibliographical survey of the current state of Porto was carried out, containing several measures that contribute to the current control of harmful Sinanthropic Fauna. The present study also contributes with part of the results obtained in the “Compliance Program for the Management of Solid Waste and Liquid Effluents in Brazilian Maritime Ports”, through the inter-institutional initiative of the Secretary of Ports of the Presidency of the Republic (SEP/PR), in partnership with the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), through the International Virtual Institute for Global Changes (IVIG).
